Sexual Trauma and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder: 
Psychological Intervention Strategies

Dr. House is a Licensed Psychologist and Associate Professor at the Medical College of Georgia in the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Georgia (UGA) in 1996.  She received her M.S. in Psychology from UGA in 1994 and her B.A. in Psychology in 1991 from Wake Forest University.  She is currently the Director of a Sexual Trauma Survivors' Program at the Department of Psychiatry & Health Behavior providing treatment of depression and PTSD associated with sexual assault and abuse.  Community activities include membership on the Sexual Misconduct Response Team for the Northeast Georgia Presbytery.   Dr. House's curriculum vitae includes extensive presentation and publication experience.  She has served the Centers for Disease Control, Atlanta, GA as a Grant Reviewer for "Demonstration Projects for the Early Intervention and Prevention of Sexual Violence and Intimate Partner Violence Among Racial and Ethnic Minority Populations".  She is a member of several scientific and professional societies, which include the American Psychological Society and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.
