Rape Resonse is hiring a Victim Services Advocate, Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish)

Position requires knowledge, experience, and ability to:

  • Understand and support victims of sexual assault through crisis calls, emergency room support and accompaniment, short-term crisis intervention and court accompaniment
  • Provide crisis intervention for victims (24/7 Crisis Line, Emergency Room, On-Call Support)
  • Serve as interpreter on behalf of Rape Response and survivors of sexual assault (Bilingual Advocate)
  • Collaborate with community resources and agencies to facilitate access to existing services
  • Participate in recruitment and training of volunteers for 24/7 crisis line
  • Participate in prevention education programs to meet the needs of collaborative agencies and community organizations in the six-county area of Northeast Georgia
  • Support staff and volunteers toward the mission of Rape Response
  • Live within 30 minutes of Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s Gainesville location

Position requires: Knowledge of Advocacy. Fluent Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Bachelor’s degree in human service field: social work, psychology, criminal justice or related field or equivalent work experience. Must have strong organizational, written, communication and computer skills. Must be capable of working independently and travel within six county service area. Knowledge of trauma informed principles and prior experience working directly with survivors is preferred.

Salary and Employment: This is a grant funded full-time position with benefits, 40 hours weekly. Full time applicants only. Salary is based on education and years of experience in a trauma related field. Position and continuance are dependent upon grant allocations. Employment contingent on fingerprints, background check, drivers license and proof of active auto insurance. Rape Response is an environment that values work-life balance, however we are a 24/7 agency so night and weekend work will be required.
