Position requires knowledge, experience, and ability to:
Understand and support victims of sexual assault through crisis calls, emergency room support and accompaniment, short-term crisis intervention and court accompaniment.
Provide crisis intervention for victims (24/7 Crisis Line, Emergency Room, On-Call Support)
Serve as interpreter on behalf of Rape Response and victims of sexual assault
Participate in recruitment and training of volunteers for 24/7 crisis line
Support staff and volunteers toward the mission of this non-profit victim service agency
Communicate excellently verbally and in writing
Utilize computer programs in daily operations and data collection
Participate in prevention education programs to meet the needs of collaborative agencies and community organizations in the six-county area of Northeast Georgia
Live within approximately 30 minutes of Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s Gainesville location
Position requires college degree in human service field, preferably in psychology, social and behavioral sciences, criminal justice or related field or minimum of 3 years experience in direct victim services/advocacy as staff or volunteer. Must be fluent in Spanish.
This is a one-year, grant-funded, full-time position, 40 hours weekly with the hope of continuation. Full-time applicants only. Rape Response is an environment that values work-life balance; however, we are a 24/7 agency so some night and weekend work will be required.
