Since 1988, Rape Response has served as a system of support, advocacy, and education, providing services to the community and survivors of sexual assault (ages 13 and older) while safeguarding the dignity of each person served. Our primary service area includes Dawson, Forsyth, Habersham, Hall, Lumpkin and White Counties in Georgia.
From the courageous survivors Rape Response serves:
“Thank you all so much for helping out. My knowledge is so limited with that kind of situation and I really feel like that God used you all to help both the victim and me through a difficult situation. Please let the advocate know that I am eternally grateful for her guidance last Sunday. I’ve known that Rape Response is amazing and wonderful organization, but you ladies really are the real deal. Thank you for all that you do and have done! You are not only a blessing to the victims, but also to the friends and the family affected by the sometimes devastating aftermath of sexual assault. I feel incredibly blessed to a part of this organization!”
“Thanks for everything you all have done for me and my family. I feel like I am going forward with my life now.”
“I can’t thank you enough for meeting with me today-I have such trouble finding the right words to talk about what happened, but you heard my heart, and that means so incredibly much. You helped me to process so much, and to have you there talking with me was so comforting-I don’t think I had ever realized just how lonely I had been feeling with everything, and it’s powerful and amazing to know that I’m not alone with it anymore. These words are not enough, but thank you, thank you, thank you for freeing me from that loneliness.”
21% of TGQN (transgender, genderqueer, nonconforming) college students have been sexually assaulted, compared to 18% of non-TGQN females, and 4% of non-TGQN males.
